A business built on change.

Suzuki continues to grow and innovate.

Did you know that Suzuki was formed in 1909 but was branded as the Suzuki Loom Company? It didn't build motorbikes at that point but weaving looms that produced Japanese cotton; it took until 1952, 43 years for Suzuki to enter into the bike world. It was called the "Power Free" and as it sounds it was a bicycle with a 36cc 2 stroke strapped to the frame.

The company changed its name two years later to Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd after producing an average of 6,000 motorcycles per month.

It now makes up one part of the “Big Four” motorcycle companies from Japan, known for its world title winning roadracers and off-road bikes.
