If you are looking for a fun and exciting way to spend your weekend, then you should head to the Haggs “Horizon Unlimited” 6th Annual Adventure Meet. Taking place at the Haggs Bank Bunkhouse and Campsite, Nentsberry, Alston, from 21st September – 23rd September, this is one event you cannot afford to miss.

This is a great event for any motorbike enthusiast as the weekend is full of activities. At the same time, you can go out and take a look at what the North Pennines has in store for you.

To give you an idea of what to expect during this meet, here is a look at the schedule:
    Friday

The first day is the only time when you get to take it easy during this meet. Once you arrive at the campsite, you get to meet all the bikers who made it to this event. There will be a bonfire at night, where you can share your stories with your fellow bikers. To add to the experience, you also get the opportunity to taste some of the local beers.

The organisers want everyone to take rest so that they have the energy to meet the demands of all their activities.

        Saturday

On the second day, you can satisfy your thirst for adventure, as you can explore your surroundings on your favourite motorbike. There are various trail rides you can take, giving you the opportunity to experience the beautiful countryside. Depending on your off-roading experience, you can choose the right trail ride and put your skills to test. Each trail ride will take anywhere between three to six hours for you to complete. You also get to test your motorbike on parts of the Trans Euro Trail, an experience you will never forget.

If you are a person who enjoys riding on the tarmac, you can be a part of the guided tour, which will take you through some scenic routes. At the end of the journey, you will end up at the Scottish Borders or Lake District, which again has mind blowing views.

You have the opportunity to see a different view on life, by going on a guided tour of Smallcleugh Mine. If you want to go on a different journey, you can take the electric bicycles and create an adventure.

When you are a part of this meet, you get to experience some of the local attractions at cheaper rates. If you are a person who likes to go on walks, there are some maps to point you in the right direction.

During night time, you get to talk about your experiences with your fellow bikers, as there is a bonfire and live music. There is also a BBQ, local beers, and a bar to keep the party going throughout the night.

            Sunday

On Sunday, you get to watch the main event, the Beamish Trophy Trial, which takes place near the campsite. In this event, 3-wheeled vehicles, sidecars, and motorbikes built before 1980 will compete against one another.
